Once you’ve climbed up you’ll notice that there is a small squarish outcropping on the southeastern side that appears a bit more isolated from the rest of the group. Once you reach the area, I recommend approaching the outcropping from the south side climbing about halfway up. This is the location of the treasure, so head on over there. Just north of Salty Springs is a large rock outcropping, if you view from the east, there will be a ledge about one third of the way to the top with a tree on it. The location pictured is fairly iconic, being the only landmark of its type on the map. The map is rotated 90 degrees clockwise (to the right) which means the map is being viewed by someone from the east. This week’s treasure map is very on-the-nose. This appears at D7 on the main map’s grid. It’s not a particularly well hidden map, just descend down into the mining tunnels and you’ll see it posted on the tunnel walls. The treasure map is located on the bottom tunnel level (underground section) of Shifty Shafts. For those interested in the whole process (or only want a partial answer revealed to them), read on. If you’re not interested in how the treasure is found – or you’re in a hurry – just skip to the final section of the guide. Regardless, I hope this was helpful to you, and that you were able to fumble around quite a bit less than I did and find the treasure right away. Instead of just a treasure map, maybe it’s a scavenger hunt with multiple locations and clues, but we’ll see. I hope we see more “advanced” maps like this next season, though I wouldn’t put it past Epic to alter the entire concept, seeing as how they’re slowly changing challenges from season to season. I actually liked this map a lot because it required a bit more thinking than the others, given how relatively confusing this landmark is.
Check out other challenges you can complete with the Battle Pass Check Out Season 5 Battle Pass. You need the Battle Pass to complete this challenge. You can head to the location of the treasure directly. Players can complete the challenge without finding the map. The safest bet is probably to do this in 50v50 where your team members may actually be trying to get to the same thing, and that means you can have an easier approach and even potentially use a teammate’s ramps. Finding the Treasure Map is NOT Required. While the location itself is easy enough to find, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll die after you grab it. That literally happened to me, and then you’re forced to navigate around the mesa using the limited resources there (there are only a few trees and rocks to farm). This week has players following a treasure map found in Shifty Shafts. You can land directly on the spot if your bus path is helpful enough, though with so many potential platforms, you may get confused and end up on the wrong one.
